Devoid of Strength

I am finished/like a plate, overloaded

with food of every kind/devoured by

numerous hands/unwashed and ungrateful

stabbing each other to get a piece/and soon

I am consumed wholly/scraped and scratched

mouths dribble with saliva/departed they are

I am left alone/nothing left to say

they shoved their fists down my throat/am I

human/or a humans means to an end

desecrated/discombobulated

diminished/I feel the winter heat sting

and once you were there to cover me/but now

I feel every door close/each window slam shut

the snow drifts reach my knees/and I cry out

before the breath freezes solid/and tears

solidify on my face/before the final crow

alights on the winter wind/my fate sealed

till the return of spring

I'm interested in hearing what you have to say
