take our love
break it over your mouth
purple juices splatter on our hands
drip down your neck
between breasts
the vessel of light magnified
I lose track of your eyes, bowing now
to clean up our mess
wet tongue on the parched skin
did I pass the test
or should I look up at you
staring at the ceiling, fists clenched
delighted even in the blindness of passion
never come down
but we both want to come
yet release would take us back to Earth
where we’re separated by hundreds of miles
linked only by a shared passion for poetry
and dark roast
isn’t life the sweetest pleasure you’ve ever had
