War Paint

War paint, because I gotta

Rout them, even if I die trying

Freedom is a land forever left barren

Because there are those who cannot see

Those who can, and are afraid

Sandwiched in-between the realm

Of warriors like me

Surrendering our lives

Others pass over us, and survive

It’s a pain, it’s a primordial instinct

To forever believe in that promise

And I do

I fly my flag without shame

Today is tomorrow again and again

No matter what becomes of my body

Soul is entrenched in the cosmos

Can I ever die

I may be slowed by age or relationships

But even the most impervious surface

The minds of evil

Cannot keep me from seeping in

And wilting their seedless thoughts

From the inside out
