Blood Crawls Through Shellshocked Veins

she’s drawn to me

and I her

I feel the blood in my veins crawl

and the heart burns

she doesn’t call me

mister, daddy, or sir

but friend

head sent into the highest of clouds

then brought back down

because here comes

sanding before me now

shiny black dress

tiny little pearls

body could melt into a heap of ashes

so I give her hand a twirl

to revitalize a soul

she torments my dreams

with wild thunder

raging across the pages of my life

it is nearly sinister

and it feels so right

she is mere mortal

but can never die

as long as the sun penetrates my skin

heartbeat for passion always survives

far from imaginary

this could be you

will you let me in?
